There is no such thing as not doing anything
When we are tired, one of the strongest desires is probably to “not doing anything” on the next day.
Just like how Bruno Mars sang it:
However, what we really mean is that we want to do something that can give our body a good rest. It can be sitting on a beach somewhere in Bali and reading a book. Or it can be lying on the bed staring at the ceiling.
Humans needs variety in life – when we feel bored, our brain stopped producing brain reward chemicals. Without such chemicals, we begin to feel uncomfortable.
So when you are working too hard, take a well deserved rest. After you had rested, get back to doing something that will give you a sense of purpose.
Too much of sleep, you may never wake up. On the other hand, too much work will burn you out.
So instead of not to do anything, it is what you do differently so that your brain can reward you with some pleasure inducing chemicals to live to the fullest.
And yes, you are surfing the internet for knowledge.
